Once Reviled, Now Revered

Thanks to studio ownership of Sesamites Attack intellectual property, The Halvah from Outer Space employed identical sets to great effect in several parody scenes, including above, clockwise from top left:
  • An alien vessel carves the Dairy Queen vanilla cone into a statuesque blond.
  • Gen Nutz, convinced he's in the previous movie, can't keep his hands off the beautiful(?) Professor Sesamites
  • Mistakes were made.
  • The Principal's heroic sacrifice is interrupted by a traffic ticket

At first, nobody seemed much interested in this send-up of the first movie. But despite terrible box office, The Halvah from Outer Space has since been watched by more people than the other two movies combined.

The movie achieved cult status well before the government declassified the actual events in 2015. Thanks to corny sight gags, winking fourth-wall asides, an unusual love story, and funny callbacks, it's a streaming favorite and popular midnight movie feature worldwide.
